Still traveling home after a very successful Women's World Cup in Prague, Irish national team
Head Coach Dan Leidl made some statements about the team, the future of women's lacrosse
in Ireland, and team MVP Lauren Cohen.
"The tenacity and heart Lauren plays the game with is equal to the most inspirational players
I've ever played with, coached or watched," said Leidl. "She plays with as much fire as anyone,

ABOUT TO MAKE IRELAND PROUD - The 2009 Irish Women's National Team at the World Cup Opening
Ceremonies on June 17. The Team would go on to win six of seven games over the next nine days, losing
only to the 2009 World Cup Champion USA Team, and finished 5th of 16 nations participating in the
premiere world tournament in women's lacrosse. Ireland was the only tournament newcomer to qualify
for the quarterfinals, and finished behind pool A teams from the US, Australia, Canada and England.
PRAGUE - In a hard fought game that was tied 4-4, 5-5 and 6-6 for about five minutes early
in the second half, Ireland pulled away from defending European champion Wales, 12-7,
today, and captured fifth place in its first ever appearance in the FIL Women's World Cup. READ MORE
Irish Men - CONNY Alumni Play Spirited Game on Father's Day

NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT -- An Irish Men's team took the field at Yale University's Reese
Stadium on June 21 and played a rousing game against players from Duke, Syracuse, Virginia and
many other top college teams who are all alumini of the CONNECTICUT - NEW YORK youth lacrosse
program known as CONNY.

The Irish Men's Exhibition team, in white, and the CONNY Alumni All-Star
Team gave the crowd an action packed game to watch between the youth
All-Star games at CONNY's 15th Annual East-West Classic. READ MORE
Women on the Doorstep of History June, 2009 Newsletter Published on June 17
When the Irish National Team begins play at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL)
Women’s World Cup on June 18 with a match against South Korea, they will be the first Irish team
to ever participate in the premiere event of women’s lacrosse. To get ready for this historic event,
the Team of 18 players and seven staff assembled in Dublin last Friday for five practices in three
days and on Monday flew to Prague where the tournament is taking place.

ILF's First Satellite Chapter Hosts Successful Fund-Raising Event

BUFFALO, NEW YORK -- Two high school coaches broke new ground on April 25 with an event
that brought in 34 new members, generated almost $1,400 in Ireland Lacrosse apparel sales,
and established the first satellite chapter for the Irish Lacrosse Foundation.

Teaching Lacrosse Skills to Players From Around the World

SOUTH WALES, NEW YORK -- People in places as far away as Malaysia and Niger may be curious
this summer when they see school boys honing their stick skills playing wall ball and wearing a
T-shirt with the bright green and orange "Ireland Lacrosse" logo on the chest.

UCD Men's Team Wins Dublinfest Championship in All Ireland Final
April 21, 2009
DUBLIN - Men's and women's teams with players from three Dublin Universities finished in first,
second, third and fourth place in Ireland's largest annual lacrosse tournament, Dublinfest, earlier
this month.
The men's bracket included 12 teams with 10 from the United Kingdom, but the final was all Ireland
with University College Dublin's (UCD) squad defeating a new team with players from Trinity College
and Dublin City University, 6-1. UCD had defeated Manchester, 5-4, in the semi-final round, and
finished the tournament with a perfect 8 & 0 record.
The Irish women's teams did well too with UCD taking third place, and the combined universities
team finishing fourth.
2010 Ireland Men's National Team Selection Camps Announced

DUBLIN - The Foundation has announced dates for the two selection camps for the 2010 Men's
National Team that will represent Ireland at the Federation of International Lacrosse World
Championships in Manchester, England on 10-24 July, 2010.
The first camp will be at University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland on Saturday, 13 June 2009.
The second camp will be at the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY, USA on Sunday,
