DUBLIN -- With the announcement of the 18-player Women's National Team, Ireland now has
two squads that will aim to equal or exceed the accomplishments of its 2008 National Teams at
the 2012 European Championships in Amsterdam. At the 2008 European Championships, held in
Finland, Ireland's men finished sixth among 18 teams while Ireland's women finished fourth among
10 teams. With the ongoing growth of lacrosse, both divisions will most likely have even more
teams competing this year. WOMEN'S TEAM ROSTER

evening introducing the game to 15 members of a South Dublin youth group, M.C. Teens.

brilliant. Some of us were really good at it and those of us that weren't still had fun, but
wow that ball hurts when you get it in the face. We are going to go and watch the next
match and support the team."

annual Bruce Allison Fall Tournament since the first one in 2007, but that winning streak

Foundation Funds Put to Good Use in Ireland
Nov. 7, 2011
DUBLIN - After the formation of Ireland Lacrosse last year, the Irish Lacrosse Foundation, which
maintained bank accounts in Ireland and the U.S., closed its Ireland account and donated the funds to
Ireland Lacrosse. This recent message, from Ireland Lacrosse Executive Board member John Frame
to Foundation Treasurer Jim Carroll, explains what happened after that:
It is through the close working relationship of Ireland Lacrosse and the Irish Lacrosse Foundation
that we continue to grow the sport of lacrosse in Ireland. The ILF not only raises the awareness of
Ireland Lacrosse in America, but through a very kind donation we were able to buy much needed
equipment to help new players and clubs get started. READ MORE

Growing the Game in Ireland Includes Referee Training Too
Oct. 28, 2011
DUBLIN -- A critical part of growing lacrosse activity in Ireland goes beyond finding new
players and teaching them fundamentals. It also includes recruiting and training the people
responsible for insuring games are played by the rules and with player safety in-mind at
all times, the referees.
For the second year in a row and with some help from the Irish Lacrosse Foundation, the
Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL), and others, a referee training weekend in Dublin
will help insure there is a pool of qualified officials to work lacrosse games in Ireland. READ MORE
