2009
  • The National Team defeats 6 of 7 opponents in Ireland's first ever appearance
    in the FIL Women's World Cup, is the only Tournament newcomer to qualify for
    the quarter finals, and finishes in 5th place out of 16 national teams.
     
  • The Men's National Team wins the bronze medal at the 2009 Celtic Cup with
    2 wins in 4 games.

2008
  • Dublin City University and Trinity College club lacrosse teams formed.
  • University College Dublin men's and women's club teams both win first
    place at the Bock Auf Tournament in October in Karlsruhe, Germany.
  • Irish National Men's Team compiles 4 - 4 record at 2008 European
    Championships in Finland, finishing in 6th place out of 18 teams.

  • Irish National Women's Team competes in European Championships for
    the first time winning 4 of 5 games to finish in 4th place among 10 teams.

  • Dublin Lacrosse men's team wins the Amsterdam Lowland Tournament,
    finishing first among 8 teams, in the Netherlands in June.
  • UCD team members play exhibition games in Cork and Limerick  to create
    interest in lacrosse at University College Cork and the University of Limerick.
    Volunteers run clinics for more than 200 youth in the Dublin area to introduce
    lacrosse and increase participation.
2007
  •  Ireland Men's team participates in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships
     for the first time.  With 0-4 record, Ireland finishes 8th in 8 team field.

2006
  •  Dublin Lacrosse Men's team wins its first ever tournament championship
     with a 6-0 record in Ireland's largest lacrosse event, Dublinfest.  PHOTO
     UCD team participates in Dublinfest for the first time.
  •  Dublin Riggers box lacrosse team partcipates in the Alex Hrebesky Memorial,
     Europe's largest box tournament, for the first time.  The Riggers finish 11th 
     among 12 teams at the event in Prague in April.
  •  Irish National Men's Team wins 5 of 7 games at the 2006 World Lacrosse
     Championships in Canada, finishing in 7th place out of 21 teams.

  •  The Dublin Box Lacrosse League (DBLL) is formed with four teams and a
     regular season and post season cup competition from September to January.
2005
  •   Ireland's Men win the first ever piece of silverware for a National Team at
      the inaugural Celtic Cup tournament in Wales.  TEAM PHOTO & SCORES
  •   Competing at the international level for the first time, Ireland's Women finish
      in first place at the European Newcomers Tournament in Denmark.

  •  Dublin Lacrosse finishes as runner-up at its first appearance in Dublinfest.
  •  University College Dublin (UCD) Club Lacrosse team is formed.
  •  Dublin Riggers box lacrosse team is formed and finishes 3d of 6 teams at
     its first tournament, HarbourLax TC in the Netherlands.

2004
  • Ireland's Men win 6 of 7 games at the European Championships, winning the
    Cyan Division, and placing 7th out of 12 teams.

  • Irish Lacrosse Foundation formed and incorporated in Ireland and the U.S.
  • Dublin Lacrosse Club Founded.
2003
  • Ireland approved as full member of International Lacrosse Federation. 
  • Ireland men's team players and staff made a promotional tour, holding youth lacrosse clinics and playing games at Trinity College Dublin and the University of Limerick.

2002
  • An Ireland men's team participated in the World Lacrosse Championships for
    the first time, in Perth, Australia in July.  With two wins each against South
    Korea and Hong Kong, and one against New Zealand, Ireland wins the Green
    Division for new International Lacrosse Federation affiliate countries.  Ireland
    finishes with a 5-0 record and 12th out of 15 teams.
2001
  • Ireland competed in the European Lacrosse Championships in Cardiff, Wales.
    The team finished in 6th place with a record of 0-5.
 
 
1995
  • The University of Notre Dame and Cornell University traveled to Ireland Exhibition matches.
1908 
  • Olympic Games: Ireland & Great Britain team won silver medal losing to Canada 14-10.

1800s
  • Lacrosse was played in Ireland in the 1800’s.
